We were six adults with dive gear and the Fortuner swallowed all of it. The diesel pulls hard from low revs, which matters on the climb over to Kata. Nothing about this car felt like a rental compromise.
The hybrid drivetrain is the point. A week of daily driving across the island cost about a tank and a half. In stop-start traffic on Chao Fa it barely uses the engine at all.
Perfect first car for the island. Tiny running costs, easy to park at Rawai market, and nimble enough that the narrow sois stop being scary after a day.
Frequently asked questions
What documents do I need?
A passport and a driving licence. An IDP is recommended for police checks, but a national licence works too.
Is prepayment required?
No. We confirm by message and you pay at handover — cash, transfer or card.
How does the deposit work?
The amount is on each car's page. You leave it at handover and get it back after a joint inspection on return.
What about fuel?
Full-to-full: we hand over with a full tank, you return it full.
Can I leave Phuket?
Yes — Krabi, Khao Lak, Phang Nga are fine, just tell us in advance.
My flight is delayed — what do I do?
Nothing. Send the flight number on WhatsApp — we track the arrival and deliver at the actual time, no extra charge.
