The H1 is for when there are lots of you and you all need to travel together with the luggage. Twelve seats, proper adult chairs (not the "kiddie" perches some minivans have), a high roof, sliding doors — everything is designed specifically to move people. The 2.5 diesel pulls confidently, if a little loudly; fuel use is reasonable for a vehicle this size. On long hauls to Krabi or Phang Nga you'll tire less than sitting in two separate cars: the group travels together, chatting, with shared stops. Its size can be a nuisance at beach car parks, but you get used to it quickly. The best choice for a transfer, a corporate outing or a large family. Ideal for airport transfers from Phuket (HKT) and group trips around the island.
If you're taking the H1 for an airport pickup, remember the arithmetic: twelve seats is about people, not people plus a mountain of suitcases. When the group travels with full holiday luggage, you'll genuinely seat 8–9 in comfort, with the rest of the space given over to bags. Plan for this in advance so you're not deciding on the spot what to carry on your lap. Sliding doors on both sides make getting out much easier on a narrow verge or a tight hotel car park.
The diesel here is torquey and hauls a full cabin on the highway without strain, but sound insulation is average — at speed you'll hear the engine in the cabin. For a boisterous group that's no problem, but if you want premium-class quiet, look towards the Majesty or Alphard. Fuel use of around 10–11 litres of diesel per 100 km for a vehicle this size carrying people is quite reasonable, and diesel is cheaper than petrol on the island. Its size sets terms: hairpin climbs into the hills and the tight lanes of the old town call for a careful driver, but on the straight highways to Krabi or Khao Sok it's the most economical way to move a big group in a single car.
Please note: child seats and accessories are not included in the rental price and are provided for an additional fee — please check availability when booking.
Reviews
Ten of us came over for a wedding and one H1 covered every transfer: airport, hotel, temple, dinner. Compared with three taxis each time, it paid for itself on day one.
Three families, six suitcases and a pushchair — everything fitted with the back row still up. Despite the size it drives easily, with light steering and good visibility.
Even loaded, the diesel is economical: Khao Lak and back used less than half a tank. Separate rear air-con kept the kids quiet the whole way.
It's a workhorse, not a limousine — you hear the engine and some wind noise at highway speed. For moving a group around, none of that matters.
Brought right to the terminal and they helped load the bags. Paperwork took ten minutes and the deposit was reasonable for a vehicle this size.
Twelve real seats with proper belts, not benches. We asked for two child seats and they arrived fitted and adjusted.
