Toyota Majesty

The Toyota Majesty is a premium minivan for a large family, a transfer or a group outing. A high roof, a spacious cabin, a soft ride and individual comfortable seats make it easy to endure long routes around Phuket and beyond. The diesel engine pulls confidently with passengers and luggage aboard, and the automatic keeps city driving smooth. A great option when the Hyundai H1 feels a step short on comfort but you still want to travel all together in one vehicle.

The Majesty sits between the workmanlike H1 and the premium Alphard: it's still a full eleven-seat minibus, but with a noticeably more comfortable cabin, better sound insulation and a softer ride. For a transfer of a large family or group from HKT airport it's a find — everyone travels in one vehicle, sharing the conversation and the stops, and after a long flight it matters that the drive to your hotel in Patong or Khao Lak is spent in comfort rather than cramped.

The 2.4 diesel confidently hauls a full cabin with luggage even on climbs, and on the long highways to Krabi, Phang Nga or Khao Sok National Park the car rides smoothly and steadily. Budget around 10 litres of diesel per 100 km — reasonable for a minivan this size with passengers, and diesel is cheaper than petrol on the island. The downsides are obvious and common to the class: the large footprint calls for care on hairpins and in the tight car parks of the old town, and full luggage with a full load of people still needs planning ahead. People rent the Majesty for premium transfers, corporate outings and large families who value both space and comfort at once.
